Robert Pattinson Makes Parents Proud at Hand and Footprint Ceremony

Robert Pattinson was surrounded by Twihards when he joined real-life love Kristen Stewart and costar Taylor Lautner for their hand and footprint ceremony at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood Thursday.

But despite their unwavering support, it was Pattinson's parents who were most excited to see the actor take part in the momentous occasion.
"His parents were in the front row and they were cute," an onlooker tells Us Weekly. "His mom was using her personal digital camera to take photos of everything, including the news helicopters circling overhead!"

Pattinson's mother, Clare, and his father, Richard, said they "were doing the tourist thing" while visiting California. "The weather is much better than in England!"
At one point, Clare nudged a pal and said, "This is all a bit wacky!"

Meanwhile, Pattinson -- no doubt happy to reunite with Stewart, 21 -- thanked fans for helping him celebrate the career milestone.
"This is such an incredible honor, how young we are -- it's kind of ridiculous and amazing at the same time," the Brit said. "It's all up to you guys to drive this franchise over the years, so thank you so much for being so consistent. Thank you. You should all come up here and put your hands in!". ( movies.yahoo.com )

Recap: 'The Amazing Race' - 'We Love Your Country Already, It Is Very Spacious

Oh, come on.

No. Seriously.

We're all fans of "The Amazing Race" here, right?

I hope so. I recap the show because I'm a fan. I assume you read the recaps because you're a fan.

So, fan-to-fan... Level with me: Is there anybody out there who is happy with the structural choices made for this season's "Amazing Race"?

Anybody?

Click through, cuz there's gonna be grumbling.

We're six episodes into the "Amazing Race" season and after Sunday (October 30) night's episode, we've now had THREE Non-Elimination Legs. To put things in a different way, we've had a month-and-a-half of episodes and as many episodes have ended with no team going home than have ended with eliminations.

Who thought this was a good idea?

There's no "Amazing Race" precedent for that, is there? Maybe if I were accustomed to "The Amazing Race" being a show that sometimes eliminates people and sometimes doesn't, this wouldn't be irksome, but I'm accustomed to "The Amazing Race" being a show that usually eliminates teams, but occasionally utilizes a Non-Elimination Leg as a surprise. Instead, tonight's episode got to Phil Keoghan addressing the seventh place team and he said, "You were the last team to arrive..." and he paused and then went into a conversation and my eyes just rolled back into my head.

I've been yelling at my TV all weekend. That's what comes from being a USC football fan and watching your school suffer through a triple-overtime loss and being a New England Patriots fan and watching your team go down in flames to a hated rival. You become accustomed to yelling at the TV. And I'm sure my neighbors heard a very loud, "Seriously? AGAIN?"

There's little doubt that I'm hypocritical in many aspects of my life, but my policy on Non-Elimination Legs is very consistent. I don't like them when they spare teams I think are cute -- Farewell, Liz & Marie -- and I don't like them when they spare teams that I'm rooting for.

Just minutes earlier, I'd been yelling "Run! Run! Run!" at my TV, as it seemed like there was a chance that Marcus & Amani, my favorite team currently competing, might survive a snake-bitten leg because Bill & Cathi, not my favorite team, failed to pay their final truckdriver. I was rooting HARD for Marcus & Amani and I was tangibly disappointed when Bill & Cathi zipped around them and finished sixth, leaving the former NFL player and his wife in last. But sadness at the elimination of a favorite team, especially in a difficult leg, is a part of "Amazing Race" fandom and I personally would have rather been unhappy at seeing Marcus & Amani dispatched than a repeat of the unresolved sensation that comes from Non-Elimination Legs.

And this was a leg I was prepared to have reservations about, but one that mostly proved to be reasonably competitive and exciting.

Then? NEL. Can we safely assume that's it for Non-Elimination Legs or will there still be one more snake in the grass waiting to pounce and neutralize the Race with its stagnating venom?

I really wasn't even going to complain about the leg-opening equalizer as the teams flew from Bangkok to Malawi in Africa. I'm a little irked that we didn't get more insight into how Jeremy & Sandy put themselves in a two-hour hole to start the leg and it doesn't quite seem right that the only thing teams did in Bangkok was feed fish and leave, but no matter.

In Malawi, the teams had to rush off to a tobacco factory for a truly difficult Roadblock that asked one player from each pair to don an orange jumper and a floppy hat and then use a dolly to cart 10 massive bales of tobacco to an assigned shoot.

It was a devilishly physical task, but it was also a great televisual task, in part because of the funny uniforms, but also because of the factory workers who hopped and skipped atop giant mountains of tobacco to follow the individual contestants, singing and dancing and goading and taunting them as they went along.

My only reservation? For five of the remaining seven teams, the Roadblock was performed by exactly the Racer you'd expect/want to do a physical task, meaning that in all five of the remaining male-female teams, it was the male contestant who did the task. With the Snowboarders, I haven't found the way that one is superior to the other and they assign their task responsibilities based on rock-paper-scissors anyway. With Laurence & Zac, Laurence did the task, while Zac's slightly fresher legs might have been a good idea. There are two downsides to this level of predictability: The first is that if you only have the best suited people doing each task, there isn't much chance for one team to gain or lose much time on a task like this and, indeed, the teams mostly finished in the order they arrived and nobody spectacularly excelled. The second downside is that although I don't have the exact numbers, I'm pretty sure that a couple of teams have reached the sixth leg with large Roadblock disparities that either will or won't become problems later. Sandy and Cathi have been especially willing to let their stronger partners do a disproportionate number of Roadblocks so far and that ought to mean that down the home-stretch, we're going to have to see Jeremy and Bill sitting out a lot of Roadblocks.

Even before reaching the Roadblock, Marcus & Amani and Bill & Cathi had fallen behind thanks to sluggish cabbies leaving the airport, with Marcus & Amani dipping even further behind after their cab driver took them to the wrong entrance to the tobacco factory.

The leg's Detour was the choice between All Sewn Up and Not Grown Up. In All Sewn Up, teams had to go to a local design shop and use old-fashioned sewing machines to complete alterations on a customer's suit pants and jacket. In Not Grown Up, teams had to go to a local school and use materials -- milk cartons, bottle caps, string, nails -- to construct toy trucks. I guess there was a pretty clear effort to follow the physical Roadblock with a Detour that required less exertion. Going with my "Always Take The Altruistic Detour" theory, the choice was easy: Not Grown Up. The equally popular "Always Take the More Photogenic Detour" theory also favored Not Grown Up, since the crowded sewing show wasn't bad, but it was no match for smiling, happy, singing and dancing school children.

Indeed, Not Grown Up was fairly certainly the faster of the two tasks, since the trucks weren't complicated to assemble and the children weren't especially picky when it came to the exact degree of awesomeness for their make-shift toys. It's not that All Sewn Up was hard. Nobody cared about the quality of seamstress work and only one of the potentially rickety sewing machines malfunctioned in any way. It was just a bit slower.

But really, neither Detour was a differentiator between the teams as they rushed to the conclusion, which required them to go to a furniture store and collect two beds, take the beds to a village via truck and then carry the beds to Phil, where they were greeted by still more smiling, singing and dancing African natives. The catch came if teams failed to pay their trucks. Justin & Jennifer initially finished first, but they had to go back and pay, giving the Snowboarders their fourth leg win and their third leg win in which they weren't actually the first team to the mat, which had to be another Race record.

Marcus & Amani, who were trailing the entire leg, looked to be doomed but when Bill asked Cathi if they needed to pay the truck, Cathi said they didn't need to pay if the driver didn't ask for it. So with Marcus & Amani going towards the village with beds on their backs, Bill & Cathi passed them going the other way to pay, giving me hope that Marcus & Amani would have an epic comeback. Instead, it turned out that walking with the beds was far slower than just jogging along the path and Bill & Cathi paid and then raced back to the mat, setting up the Non-Elimination anti-climax.

Other thoughts on the leg...

*** The Snowboarders didn't say anything offensive this week, therefore, they're back in my good graces. But be careful, guys!

*** Laurence, in contrast, had his second straight week as a grumpy old man and I'm now rooting pretty solidly against him. Last week, it was Laurence blaming Zac for not remembering the design of the Buddhist shrine after rejecting Zac's suggesting to take notes. This week, Laurence saw the two Detour choices and announced, "This is where the ladies zip past us." Hmmm... Then, Laurence got to the Not Grown Up task, took one look at Sandy and quipped, "I thought you'd have gone to the sewing machine my dear." Sandy didn't know what to say. She's a nurse and she grumbled, "I can sew a body, but I can't sew a shirt," but Laurence warned Jeremy on the dangers of marrying a woman who can't sew. Sigh.

*** Then again, Cathi saw the two Detour options and announced, "I'm a really good seamstress" and she was. Cindy also was a good seamstress. But with Marcus & Amani, it was the former tight end who announced that his grandmother and mother were both seamstresses and set to convincing work. Sounds like Laurence needs to have somebody read "My Dog Is a Plumber" to him.

*** I just think the Roadblock would have been much more interesting if Cathi and Sandy had been required to do it. We already knew that Bill's an awesome old guy. I think we saw during the race to the mat that Cathi's a good deal stronger than Sandy and that would have been interesting to see in motion on that heavy-lifting task.

*** I forgot to mention that Marcus & Amani also had a broken down cab on the leg. So really, it was mighty unlucky for them and I'm glad that they're still around, even if I'd have preferred that their survival was based on achievement, rather than production contrivance. They seem like good folks.

*** Speaking of good folks, the producers clearly determined this wouldn't be one of those African legs in which the spoiled white contestants drove through lower income neighborhoods and complained about the smell and the poverty. It was one task with smiling, singing, dancing natives after another. Wee bit stereotypical? Yes! Better than having me hate teams for intolerant attitudes? Yup!

So, where do you stand on the 50% Elimination season of "The Amazing Race"? Are you getting sick of Non-Elimination Legs? Or are you all, "The more episodes that don't include people going home the better"?

You can check them out below!

Take in a brief montage of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward's (Robert Pattinson) upcoming nuptials in this first video, lifted directly from the film's official trailer. Oh, if only it ended with uninterrupted marital bliss for the two young newlyweds! Of course then there'd be no movie, and what fun would that be?
In this next clip, Jacob (Taylor Lautner), Carlisle (Peter Facinelli) and Esme (Elizabeth Reaser) discuss the need for more blood, both so the besieged Cullens can feed/maintain their strength and in order to make sure Bella has a fighting chance of survival when she delivers her fast-growing half-vamp baby, which is due for delivery very soon. With Sam (Chaske Spencer) and the rest of the Wolf Pack closing in and Bella continuing to ail, Jacob and the Cullens discuss strategy. Carlisle says they won't be the ones to break the treaty with the werewolves by fighting with them, though Jacob indicates that in Sam's mind, the treaty is already null and void. ( hitfix.com )

Hilary Swank Fires Staff in Wake of Chechen PR Disaster

Widely rebuked for helping celebrate a brutal Chechen dictator's birthday last month, Hilary Swank has embarked on an internal housecleaning of her personal representation, TheWrap has confirmed.

According to an individual close to the Oscar-winning actress, she has fired Jason Weinberg, her friend and manager for the last eight years.

It's expected that CAA representatives Amie Yavor and Josh Lieberman will be pulled off of her team, too, the British newspaper The Independent reported. The moves come three weeks after human rights groups blasted Swank, along with Jean-Claude Van Damme, violinist Vanessa Mae and singer Seal, for attending the 35th birthday party of Chechnya's president, Ramzan Kadyrov.

Kadyrov is widely accused of torturing dissidents and killing political opponents.

The Swank insider disputed key aspects of these reports, saying the event Swank attended wasn't a birthday party for Kadyrov but a local "real-estate event" in which the controversial statesman happened to be attending.

Swank was seen on video from the event wishing Kadyrov a "happy birthday," however.

"It's unfortunate she went," the individual said. "She had no idea what she was getting into." ( thewrap.com )

"He's working on INDY V. We have not come to the script but he is currently designing the story. Let George who made the script," said Steven Spielberg was quoted as saying by Contact Music. Hopefully, this fifth part could treat the disappointment caused by the fourth part which was not as good as the previous three sections.

Problem Harrison Ford's involvement seems likely this actor will still hold his role as Indiana Jones. Earlier this actor had said if he was still interested in playing the character of this legendary. ( kapanlagi.com )

"I hope the movie will be released in two years. We've got a good story. We've got a better story than the third part," he said as quoted by Contact Music.

Since it was first made in 1993, Jurassic Park was not progressing in terms of revenue. The first part is so great success. With the creation of funds at least, the film is generating the greatest revenue along the Jurassic Park series. Hopefully, this fourth part can equal the record set the first part, adapted from the book by Michael Crichton this.

Unfortunately, so far there is no certainty whether or Jeff Goldblum Sam Neill will still come into play in the fourth part of this. ( Kapanlagi.com )

Movie Review: 'Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings'

We open, as usual, with a quick recap:
Wrong Turn (2003) -- A basic but fast-paced and genuinely effective horror story about a bunch of kids in the forest running away from a trio of mutated psychotic hillbilly cannibals.
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007) -- The series returned (on video) but surprised many by delivering a follow-up full of wit, energy, and more creativity than we'd generally expect from a "direct-to-video part 2." A bunch more. This time it's a bunch of aspiring reality stars who are chased through the forest by the aforementioned mutants.
Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead (2009) -- Not to be too unkind, but here's where the other shoe drops on the franchise. This is a rote, generic, belabored stalk & slash sequel that had me expecting (or hoping) that this was the final chapter. Directed by SyFy Channel veteran Declan O'Brien, it followed a bunch of escaped convicts as they get stalked and murdered by etc., etc.
Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings (2011) -- Declan O'Brien is back in the director's chair, but this time he's the writer as well. Whether or not that's good news is your call, but here's a mild surprise: while not up to the unexpected standards of Joe Lynch's Wrong Turn 2, this third sequel does earn a few strong points here and there. The dialogue is particularly inane, and the plot would barely qualify as formula, but hey, fair is fair: Part 4 is better than Part 3.
As the title suggests, Wrong Turn 4 is actually a prequel. Yep, we now have a (patently goofy) back-story for our favorite (?) trio of tree-lovin' cannibal monsters. And that back-story is (logically) presented by a psychiatrist who runs a massive asylum in which the three (youthful!) mutants are being held. It's no spoiler to tell you that an escape takes place, much gooey carnage ensues, and our mutants high-tail it into the woods.
Flash forward to 2003, which (I guess) plants the events right before the original Wrong Turn, and here are our victims: a large group of ostensibly colorful snowmobilers who end up making a wrong turn (yep, a character actually says it) and find that they have no choice but to hole up in... this giant abandoned asylum that just happens to reside on this mountain. After much ado about several thoroughly obnoxious characterizations (fancy hook: some of the victims are, gasp, lesbians!), the three mutant bastards make their appearance, and the rest of Wrong Turn 4 is dedicated to chase, shriek, slash, stab, scream, stumble, and chew. Lots of nasty cannibals chewing things.
To its credit, Wrong Turn 4 presents a handful of legitimately creative set-pieces of enthusiastic gore. One in the asylum prologue is suitably splattery, and a few in Act III (especially one involving skewers) do a fine job of making one squirm and squeal, while still enjoying some half-decent gore effects. Although many of the more elaborately nasty kills are (annoyingly) peppered with CGI graffiti, there's still some good old fashioned splatter to be found here. (Hey, you gotta judge this stuff on its own goals, I always say.) While not particularly scary, the flick does manage to achieve "creepy" during a few of its quieter hallway wanderings, but really, this series is happy to be an unrated, direct-to-video bloodbath.
All of which is my way of saying "You're a horror geek; you know you're going to rent it, at the very least. I think it's a marked improvement over Part 3 and there is some fun to be had amongst all the obvious stuff." Your mileage may vary. Come to think of it, the flick feels precisely like an unofficial American remake of Cold Prey. (Which is a movie you should have seen by now if you're considering a PART 4 of something else.).( fearnet.com )

First Look At Chuck Norris On The Set Of Expendables 2

Even when the first Expendables movie was coming together people were questioning why Chuck Norris wasn't involved. While Norris hasn't actually been in a movie since 2005, his career has been kept alive by the internet, with the "Chuck Norris Facts" meme becoming insanely popular and staying that way for years. Fortunately Sylvester Stallone has rectified his error from the first movie and has given a role to the action star in The Expendables 2. Now the first image of him has arrived online.

Similar to the photo featuring Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis that popped up earlier this month, the photo is posed, but filled with just as much star power. In addition to Norris, the picture includes co-stars Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews. Check it out below or full size over on Worst Previews.
Directed by Simon West and based on a script by Ken Kaufman and David Agosto, The Expendables 2 features the team of mercenaries getting back together after the death of Tool, the character played by Mickey Rourke. The movie is set to bow on August 17, 2012. ( Cinemablend.com)

Robert Pattinson vs. Johnny Depp: Who's the Hotter Vampire?

Sorry, Johnny Depp.

You may be playing a vampire in Tim Burton's upcoming horror flick Dark Shadows, but costar Chloe Moretz still thinks Robert Pattinson is Hollywood's hottest bloodsucker...

"They're two very different vampires," Moretz told us at Spike TV's Scream Awards in Los Angeles. "I'd say that Edward [Cullen] is a lot more sexy and hot, and I think that Johnny's a lot more tortured and deep."

Based on the 1960s TV series, Dark Shadows follows the adventures of centuries-old vampire Barnabas Collins (Depp) and his various run-ins with monsters, witches, werewolves and ghosts.

Fourteen-year-old Moretz plays a "fun-loving 1972 hippie" in the film who actually has to help Barnabas out in the dating department.

"He comes into my room and asks me about how to get a girl in 1972, because he's Victorian," she laughed. "He's from the Elizabethan Age, and he's a vampire. He comes in and he's like, 'How do I get this woman?'"

As for working with Depp, Moretz gushed, "He's amazing. He goes out of his way to be nice and...He makes you very comfortable on set."

Robert Pattinson: How He Helped Build a School for Teen Girls in Cambodia

Robert Pattinson has given young girls—and everyone else, for that matter—another reason to love him even more.
Here's how it came about: About a year ago, Pattinson donated a meet and greet with fans on the set of Breaking Dawn for a charity auction.
Not only did a Chicago family win the coveted prize with a bid of $80,000, but...
The money raised by Pattz for the Go Campaign is being used 100 percent to build a permanent home for PAGE (Program Advancing Girls Education), an organization helping to educate teen girls in Cambodia.

The Jobs Crisis: Poor Folk Are Making Their TV Comeback

Fourth in a series on how the economic crisis is affecting the Industry.

What with the usual assortment of doctors, lawyers, ad executives, jingle writers and police showing up on your TV set, you would hardly believe that more than 14 million Americans are out of work.

Finally, that tide seems to be shifting.

On Fox's "Raising Hope," the unabashedly downtrodden Chance family struggles with finances while rearing an infant borne out of a one-night stand.

CBS's new comedy "2 Broke Girls," about a down-and-out Brooklyn waitress and a newly impoverished former rich girl, became one of the first series this fall to receive a full-season order.

And Roseanne Barr, the queen of blue-collar TV, has sold a new sitcom, "Downwardly Mobile," about a family living in a trailer park, to NBC.

Scripts 'Sherlock Holmes 3' Already Made Start!

The second part of the movie Sherlock Holmes Guy Ritchie's work is not started airing yet Warner Bros.. seems quite optimistic that the second part is also going to succeed as the first part first. Because of this large studio is also directly recruit writers to draft the third part.
The person elected to the script writer was also not far from the life of Robert Downey Jr., Sherlock Holmes, the character actor. Position 3 Sherlock Holmes script writers entrusted to Drew Pearce, the person in charge of the manuscript IRON MAN 3.

Not yet clear when this third part will be released but Contact Music says that Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law will still believed to play Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Because the manuscript has not been made, there is no certainty about which characters are going back to the third part of this. Given the great enemy of Sherlock has been the Professor Moriarty then most likely this character will appear again.

The second section, entitled A GAME OF SHADOWS will begin airing later on December 16, 2011 and this section will begin to bring the character of Professor Moriarty.

'True Blood' casting call: A biblical new role ... and a very old friend for Eric -- EXCLUSIVE

True Blood is introducing several new characters in season 5 — and EW got the early word on two of the roles.
Creator Alan Ball and his team of scribes have put out a casting call for someone to play Nora, a beautiful and intelligent 25-to-35 something who plays a double agent within the Vampire Authority. What’s even better than that? She’s got a big history with Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) because she’s a progeny of Godric. Nora will be a series regular role that may (or may not) involve a little nudity. (It IS True Blood, after all).
Meanwhile, Co-Executive Producer Raelle Tucker told EW that they’ll include a “very significant, strong, mysterious woman at the center of one of our main stories next year … a very familiar and compelling character. It may be someone you’ve heard of before.” Especially if you’ve read the Bible: The True Blood team also put out the call for someone to play Salome, as in THE Salome, daughter of Herodias, from the good book. She’s a powerful ancient vampire (hmm, don’t remember that part from the New Testament) and a world-class seductress who’s also a little mad. So she’ll fit right into Bon Temps.

JJ Abrams and 'Zombieland' writers team up for 'Micronauts' movie

It should not come as a surprise to anyone that Hasbro wants to keep making new movies based on their toy and game products.  After all, "Transformers 3" looks to be one of the highest-grossing films of the year, and they've had pretty good luck so far in their relationship with Hollywood.

The "Micronauts" property has passed through many hands over the years.  I remember having a conversation with Gale Anne Hurd's company about the material years ago when they were looking for a writer, and the thing that struck me as we looked through the materials they offered us was that this is even less of a fully-realized concept or world than something like "Transformers," and whoever does finally turn this into a film is going to have an uphill battle to figure out what story they're telling.

Is someone getting ready for fatherhood?

Daddy-to-be Jay-Z is the first to guest star in the one of four new animated specials called Secret Millionaires Club, which premieres this Sunday on Hub TV.

His 2-D self acts as a business professional and mogul (not much acting there) promoting financial literacy for kids.

Dressed in a suit, Hova calls in four young kids and praises them for some work they've done at school, before letting them out to enjoy New York (cue in his song with Alicia Keys. No, really).

The new series will feature famous investor Warren Buffet and spread the important message that it's never too soon to learn the importance of "investing in yourself."

Buffet acts as an adviser to a group of entrepreneurial kids who learn through a series of adventures the basic principles about business. In the premiere, "Be Cool to Your School," Buffett gives financial advice to a group of teens attempting to raise money for their school and a trip to New York City.
